The Libby Trial

Here's an excellent account of the deliberations and the trial as a whole from one of the jurors on the Scooter Libby trial. This juror used to be a reporter, so it's well written, it's kind of long, so you might need some time to read it, but well worth it in my opinion.

So....

So it appears that I am now on the one post a week bandwagon. I start a new job in two weeks, so things may improve at that point. I'll be back to dealing with people again, and that's never good for my psyche. Anyways. My brother and his wife had a kid a week or so ago. Yup, I'm really on top of things. Congrats to them though, hope things are going well. I got a new bike this week. Bought a single speed frame from SOMA, a small company out of San Fran, and man do I love this bike. Already been out for two rides on it, hopefully more in store this weekend, and then down to Tucson to go ride with Art and hopefully some more riding when I get down to So. Cal. I have a brand new nephew, and a new bike, other than starting a new job soon, how could life be better?

God's banana

Ok, I suck, what can I say. I'm lazy, unmotivated, quite similar in every regard to a steaming pile of shit. Good for me. Anyways, here's a little video that PROVES that God exists and creationism is true. If you are not convinced after seeing it, well, you might just be sane.

Sh*t going down!!

So today it was announced that Tony Blair is going to set a time line for the reduction of British troops in Iraq. He's going to release that time line sometime tomorrow. My only question is, how is the White House going to spin this? Obviously Tony Blair is looking to repair the damage that this "war" has done to his image, and he only has until June or so to do that, so maybe this is the logical step. Does that mean that Bush will start removing troops in say, May of 2008 to try to improve his historical standing? Doubtful, but here's hoping.

Saw a bumper sticker the other day said: "Yee-haw is not a Foreign Policy" Brilliant.
Not much of a bowler, but I would sure as hell watch this on tv.

That's about all I got right now. Still lazy, still bored, still looking for work and warm weather. Here's hoping.

Complacency

So I haven't done shit in a while. I'm lazy, what can I say. Part of it, I think anyways, comes as a result of me not really having anything to do. My next job starts in a month, so at least I have something in the future, but recent months have been all about, "well, nothing to do today, I'll put this off until tomorrow, cause hell, I don't have anything to do then either." It just keeps spiraling until I haven't done shit for weeks. Kind of sounds like Congress. Ever notice how the more you have to do, the more you are willing to take on in addition, whereas when you got nothing to do, anything at all sometimes seems to be a burden? Odd how that works.

Did get to go biking yesterday. It was 60 degrees in Moab, partly cloudy, and my ass is out of shape. We went to the Amasa Back trail where everyone else in town also seemed to be, but it was still great. I was pretty sore today, slept like a rock last night, and can't wait to go again. Felt good to do something for once, even though it was a 2 hour drive to get there, 2 1/2 hours of riding, then another 2 to get back. Lot of travel for limited fun, but fuck, we got snow and mud here, what am I supposed to do? Got a couple ideas for my next couple of rants, we'll see how well I do at writing them, but here's hoping.
